The H Duo is comprised of 2 guitarists, Ben Haynor and Dennis Hitchcox. Both come from diverse musical backgrounds. Their compositions reveal their influences of jazz, latin, gypsy, blues, classical, country music and more. Their arrangements explore the boundaries, the differences and the similarities between these musical genres.

Ben and Dennis began playing guitars as a duo in 2003, playing restaurants and wineries. Over time the H Duo played at weddings and private events throughout the Pacific NW. In 2007 the H Duo released a CD of original music. The influences of Django, Chet Atkins, Joe Pass and others can be heard through their compositions.

With a background in classical and jazz, Ben’s guitar playing owes its style to the recordings of John Scofield, Joe Pass, Pat Metheny, and others. Modern in some ways, but with a deep admiration for traditional jazz.

Dennis

Hitchcox

Dennis’s style reflects his appreciation for the early jazz styles of Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian and Johnny Smith. His desire in jazz composition has been to mimic those old sounds.
